FHT #3

I had a whole heap of ideas for what to blog over this last week... But, then I got a new job and had to start training and so the blog got side wept this week.... oh well... life swings that way sometimes I guess...I'm back to training on Monday for another two days and then I'm done with induction... who would of thought sitting down most of the time and training could be so tiring.

So, my five happy things for this week.

-1-

Breakfast clubs at school....the older  2 loved it and without it there was no way I was going to get to training on time without it.

-2-

Having children with a guy who completely rearranged his week, so he could play chauffeur and childminder all at short notice and without complaining.

-3-

For having a lunch presented to me every day......this happens like once in the bluest of moons for a one off lunch maybe....but everyday in the land of Mummydom...uh no.

-4-

For Rebecca sticking to her bedtime and not waking up all that much. She had me sweating on Sunday night when we surfing the couch all night...but the girl did good!

-5-

For a trip to the gym yesterday....I am a little sore today.....but it was more than worth it.

FHT #2

What me happy and smile this week:

1. I have a job....and its full-time, woop woop. This is great for us financially ....I  have applied for sooooo many jobs over the last few months...had a couple of interviews...they were all positive but still didn't land the job...then yesterday I got a phone call telling me I got the job I interviewed for in the week. I start this Monday training  and the job is  in walking distance of where we live (not the training unfortunately but it's only for 4 days and so I can totally roll with that)...a Godsend for a non-driver like myself.

2. Malcolm's taking me out for a meal to celebrate tonight....kid free zone and we get to get all dressed up...Excited!!

3. We went to visit my Gran in the week (I'm a total dur...I had meant to take photos...the camera was in my bag...but I had such a good time I forgot). One (among some other things) I love about having my kids young is that they get to experience this lady who spoiled me rotten as a kid. Whilst there my Gran dug out a couple of poems written by her Mum and brother .

My Great-Uncle Jim wrote the most utterly nonsense, completely funny poem about...oh I don't know what....but the kids roared in laughter and through my Great-Gran's poem it looks like her Mum at 84 was not best pleased when the war minister told her to give up her iron gate for the war effort.
We had a blast.....there was limeade and the kids got to feed the fish in the pond......not a big deal I hear you say....oh but feeding fish is to our 3 year old it so is.

4. We had no major breakdowns in the half-term...there were squabbles for sure but nothing that an ice- lolly or a trip out could not solve. THANKYOU weather for the sun.

5. Jessica's chat. I'm getting Rebecca down in the bed.

Jessica comes in and whispers holding a piece of paper: 'Mum look what I got on the IQ test, I did it all myself'....beaming smile.
I whisper back... 'thats really good Jess.'
Jessica replies... 'Daddy did it as well... he's not but he's nearly at men-tal level (mensa level).

I laughed so loud I'm surprised I didn't wake up Rebecca or wet the bed.

Jess sweetie your Dad is way beyond mental level...trust me!

FHT # week 1

Last week I hold my hands up, I would of found it difficult to come up with 5 happy things being housebound with a sick little girl and feeling sleep deprived but this week not so much:

This week I'm happy...

1) For not having to administer any more antibiotics, how much Rebecca actually had is anyone's guess, mine is 0-10% of what she was meant to have- she just screamed and spat it out every time.

2) For having a house that contains teabags, we had run out last week, they remained on the shopping list but not in the shopping bag. I'm <3'n being able to follow my addiction again for cups of tea.

3) For a new matress, to be able to sleep in a bed that is no longer bumpy.

4) For being able to spend an hour with Jessica over the weekend and working on a clay model for school. I enjoyed listening to how she was going to make it better and her look of concentration was beyond her years-future art critic-maybe?

5) For the most easiest and cheapest (think 20p cheap)  knocked up crumble I have ever made and kept the kids from saying those words I hate 'Mum,I'm Hunngggrrryyyyy'....
